This story begins in an office with Mar\u00eda \u00c1ngeles Le\u00f3n, the founder of Open Value Foundation<\/a>. I showed them a first draft of a social entrepreneurship training programme, and after some feedback and adjustments, we decided to launch it Social Impact Doers Programme<\/a> (SID) not really knowing where this was going but sure that we would learn as we went.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first edition of this intensive 25-hour programme in social entrepreneurship was held in your space, Value School. 15 people signed up. It was fantastic. We created a WhatsApp group for the participants and in the second edition we added the attendees to this chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SID programme was a pool of knowledge and experiences for anyone to adopt the goal of changing the world in their professional daily lives. I've always said that social entrepreneurship isn't a sector but an attitude and a skill practised with a series of tools. I knew that many training programmes for social entrepreneurs had failed because they limited the term \u2019social entrepreneur\u2019 too much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 10 in-person editions and 250 participants at the Open Value Foundation space, we started to think. So many people had come from Barcelona, Seville, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, London, and in the tenth edition, two people came from Bogot\u00e1. We decided to take the programme to Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and, when the plans were organised, the arrival of the pandemic threw them into disarray. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had found a product that participants recommended, so no marketing investment was necessary. We took the in-person format online, and a year and a half later, we have trained over 1,000 people in more than 20 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 250 people who attended the in-person event across 10 editions are still in the \u201cSocial Impact Doers\u201d WhatsApp group. They discuss initiatives, share reflections, events, job offers, validate entrepreneurial hypotheses, ask for favours, and help each other out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, we created two more WhatsApp groups, reaching a total of 750 people (across three groups). We realised that we were building a community of people who, beyond just learning, wanted to collaborate to change the world. The energy was immense!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is how my second social enterprise was born, as a spin-off from the Social Impact Doers Programme, La Social Learner<\/a> It is the first community for collective collaboration and learning for people committed to changing the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many challenges, but we have a good feeling. In just one month, over 500 people have registered, more than 50 projects have been submitted, and three of the professionals we most admire (Gloria Gubianas from Hemper, Agust\u00edn Vit\u00f3rica from Gawa Capital, and Javier Goyeneche from Ecoalf) are among the speakers on our training agenda.

We want La Aprendedora to be a community, a reference content portal for the United Nations SDGs, a learning platform and a collective incubator for social projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge is extremely complicated; communities are proliferating and it's not easy to provide value for many people, to have a presence in their daily lives, and for us to make time to collaborate. It's up to us to ask the members, who are joining every day, what they want us to do with La Aprendedora, and their answer will be the path to collective success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Social Learner could have been called the \u201cSocial Transformer\u201d because we want to transform lives and projects, drive solutions to major challenges, and make its members happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The definition of happiness I like most is that it is found when we align thoughts, words, and deeds. If social injustices bother us and we want to be part of the change, we either act, or we will regret it our whole lives. At the end of the day, we embark on ventures, above all, so as not to regret not having tried. Let's create a global movement of social entrepreneurs, people who, from their own positions, collaborate and co-create projects that improve the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key will be creativity, which has nothing to do with art but with the ability we all have to create the projects of our lives and our surroundings, the solutions to make the world always a little better.
