The voice of the Third Cohort of Acumen Fellows Programme<\/a> In Spain it is a authentic voice<\/strong>. It contains the truth of the liquid chromosomes of our culture, made of a thousand distinct skins, and at the same time, of our dual identity, so often exacerbated. The truth of the almost-extinct Romani-Spanish chip\u00e9 <\/strong>It is as intrinsically ours as cocido or paella. It is made from the wounds of our inner children, reacting from pain, and from the love and wisdom of a mother who embraces her child after a tantrum. It is a voice, gentle yet firm, of volcano and salt spray, which questions and questions itself and is capable of Maintain doubt with the same strength as certainty.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ours it is a voice of tensions already contracted in the annals of our history<\/strong>, of rich and poor, of mud and offices, of unheard voices and privileged voices. Of abandonment. Of belonging. Of crowds. Grown in equal measure with the cells of self-demand and of the consciousness of being. It is a voice anchored in values, with the ideal of justice guiding our steps<\/strong>, inflamed by the hope of the new paradigm that is to come. That we are to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For five days and five nights \u2013just as we started this process exactly nine months ago<\/a>\u2013 the 17 people in the cohort are facing our first big challenge as a group: adolescence. We are becoming independent of the structure that Acumen has provided us.<\/strong>along with its strategic partners in Spain \u2013Open Value Foundation, Universidad Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela and Arcano Partners<\/strong>\u2013, to continue developing our community of mutual support with the will to generate systemic change in our country, but by our own rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first few days we focused on something we really like and which has been fundamental to train different levels of perspective<\/strong>the readings of good society. While we hesitated over what was happening between the action and the balcony from which we observed the dynamics of our own group, the readings led us to an elevator from which to understand the history of humanity, the systems that govern us today, and how we have arrived at this point. We understood that Desire is where injustices are born. <\/strong>and which leads us to war. We observe a world designed from privilege. And we decide that from right now Social needs cannot be a privilege to aspire to only after material needs have been met.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We learned that our internal narratives<\/strong> not only do they affect us in interpersonal relationships, but they also have a huge impact on how we position ourselves in relation to a problem and our ability to influence it. That the stories we tell have the power to turn someone who is not a victim into one, as when we speak of vulnerable groups. That to listen without judgment we have to temporarily suspend the filter of our own identity. That we are drops in the ocean and the ocean in a drop. That What Acumen provides us with is a space for transformation<\/strong>. Because what happens in this trusted group also happens on a large scale in our society. And probably in the unusual nature of this space lies the greatness of the process we have undertaken to get here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This third in-person meeting has been very intense. Perhaps as much as the other two were? Many things have happened to us along the way and we have been a brave group, one that takes risks, that moves forward, that gives feedback, that supports each other. Fundamental support, in fact, in a complex year for many of us. And in it, our second \u2013 or perhaps third \u2013 shared success occurred. It has a name of its own: Pilar<\/strong>. With it we celebrate the emotion of being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 17 of us, just as there are 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The 17:17 is the time when Romina<\/strong> She looks at her phone screen again and again. Gate 17A is the boarding gate for Dani <\/strong>and the age at which the \u2018bro\u2019 died Miguelito<\/strong>. \u201cTrust in the process and you will move towards a new future,\u201d Acumen tells us again through numerology. And indeed, ours is the voice of cosmic compass<\/strong>. The one of synchronicity that tells us we are where we need to be. The voice of the voiceless. Or rather, the voice of the \u2018unamplified\u2019. A bloody miracle. A melting pot of spirituality, diverse men and women, and roguishness. Because joy and fun are also drivers for generating the changes we need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see the best of the world in every person. Because this is about people. About confronting our real humanity with its contradictions and tensions, so we're not at odds with our everyday lives.<\/strong> By learning from the nuances. By recovering self-confidence. By nurturing ourselves with other perspectives. By surfing together the uncertainty of what is to come. By to remove our armour when it doesn't make us better, and put it on when it serves to protect others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Fellowchip\u00e9\u2019 is a space for inspiration and, above all, for love, a lot of love. We spend our lives searching for a place to belong. This is the place we want to be: our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My community. And within it, those who share with us the mission of scaling social and environmental impact will find refuge, support, and impetus.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
